Although the majority of the projects are located in Western Washington, during the past 68 years Henson-owned companies have worked in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and Mexico.
In 1989, Bill and Trey Henson formed Hensons' Masonry, Inc., specializing in large commercial masonry projects. The majority of their projects were located in western Washington.
In 1994, B&T Masonry, Inc. was started by Bill and Trey in Salt Lake City, Utah. While the name is still in use, both no longer have any interests in that company.
In 2000, The Henson Company, Inc. was formed by Trey Henson. In 2004 we obtained a California contractors license. The company is currently doing work in Washington, central California, and southern California.
The Henson family of companies has built many notable projects.
Perhaps the crown jewel is the University of Washington's Mary Gates Hall. This project was the "Honor Award Winner" for the Masonry Institute of Washington's 2000 Excellence in Masonry Design Awards. It was also recognized nationally being named The World of Masonry/Masonry Construction Magazine's "Project of the Year for 2000" as well as The Mason Contractors Association of America's Honorable Mention for their 2001 Excellence in Masonry Awards.
B&T Masonry won numerous Excellence Awards as well. Their signature was the 1.4 million square foot conference center for the LDS Church in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Schools, hospitals, community centers, hotels, arenas, condominiums, prisons, retail stores, and casinos comprise the majority of our work. Trey became involved in the construction industry at an early age. He started as an apprentice bricklayer at the age of 15. After becoming a journeyman bricklayer, he worked his way to job foreman, then superintendent and finally owner. His hard work along with lessons learned by generations of experience before him, helped mold and shape The Henson Company into who we are today.
